Farm/Ranch Succession Planning

UC Cooperative Extension in Solano and Yolo counties has partnered with the Center for Land-Based Learning (CLBL) and California FarmLink to help farmers and ranchers in our region with the important and challenging task of succession planning. Succession planning involves deciding, hopefully well ahead of time, how you will transfer the farm operations, management and eventually ownership to the next generation. Whether to one or more of your family members, farm managers or a skillful beginning farmer, the transition can be made smoothly and fairly for all with the right information and planning.

We would greatly appreciate you completing a short questionnaire in order to help us plan a workshop and several follow-up sessions that best fit the needs of producers in our region. The workshop will be held in 9 AM to 3 PM on Friday, February 10, 2012 at Norton Hall, 70 Cottonwood Street, in Woodland (see below) and will include guest speakers, succession planning resources you can take home, and a lunch.  SAVE THE DATE!
